Ann Arbor SPARK’s own Skip Simms was named one of the most influential executives in metro Detroit and Michigan by DBusiness magazine. The inaugural publication, Detroit 500, examined more than 30 industries, including Skip’s category — venture capital.
According to DBusiness editor R.J. King, “For every fork in the road, it always pays to have access to wise counsel. And that’s the spirit of Detroit 500.” Skip embodies this spirit, having helped countless startups — sharing his experiences, insights, and advice all with a compassionate candor.
As SPARK’s senior vice president, Skip oversees entrepreneurial activities including our two incubators, our business accelerator programs, and all capital programs. He also manages the Michigan Angel Fund (MAF) — a for-profit, pooled and professionally managed angel fund established by Ann Arbor SPARK and supported by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.
To once again quote King, “When confronted with a major problem, knowing that key person in a business or an organization can lead to amazing results.” Skip is absolutely that resource at SPARK. Congratulations!
