Ypsilanti businesses are celebrating the arrival of Ypsi 9th Hour! Sponsored and co-created by Ann Arbor SPARK East Innovation Center and The Back Office Studio (BOS), this after-work networking scene is for anyone looking to socialize with like-minded entrepreneurs, business professionals, and independent contractors in a casual, relaxed atmosphere with complimentary refreshments.
As new companies establish here, Ypsilanti’s business population continues to thrive. While the professional working environment undoubtedly breeds collaboration, SPARK East and BOS noticed a vacancy in activity dedicated to networking and camaraderie. With this growing need to connect, Ypsi 9th Hour was created to elevate the community aspect of business professionals by offering a place for them to meet up at the ninth hour — after an eight-hour workday. The atmosphere is friendly and encourages growing new connections and building upon established ones, too.
July’s Ypsi 9th Hour will be hosted by Growing Hope at the Robert C. Barnes Sr. MarketPlace Hall in Ypsilanti. Growing Hope emerged in Ypsilanti in 2000, expanded its workspace in 2013, and then again in 2015. Whether you are an established business person or between jobs, join other professionals to network on July 24. If you wish to visit Growing Hope at another time, shop locally crafted products every Tuesday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. downtown among neighbors and friends. There are also Depot Town markets every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
