Howell-based Chem-Trend, a global leader in the development and production of high-performance release agents, purging compounds, and other molding products, was awarded a $250,000 Michigan Business Development 
Program performance-based grant by MEDC. The company is planning on investing $7.7 million to expand its R&D facility at its Howell headquarters. Chem-Trend is creating 25 professional, scientific, and technical service jobs with this acquired grant.
“Chem-Trend differentiates itself through developing innovative technology backed by uncompromised customer service, and this expansion reconfirms our commitment to continue delivering advanced product technologies that address the evolving needs of our customers,” said Devanir Moraes, the company’s president and CEO. “As we look to the future, we are focused on increasing Chem-Trend’s already industry leading level of R&D and technical support capabilities.”
